No, not at all. The wood must be fresh, healthy and newly cut.

The ideal dimensions of a wood trunk are: 30 cm length – 18-24 cm diameter

How do I seed very big wood trunks?

You do seed them using the same procedure used for smaller trunks. The only difference is that, for such a purpose, I need to use a greater amount of mycelium.
